Biography
Clinical Assistant Professor Angela Hoikka teaches dental and dental hygiene students in the Department of Comprehensive Dentistry at University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. She is an alumna of Detroit Mercy, having practiced general dentistry for more than 20 years — first as an associate, then as an independent business owner and finally as a contract dentist in the United States Air Force mission in the United States, Japan and the United Kingdom.
Dr. Hoikka pursued her certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and Master of Science in 2019 from The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. She achieved her Diplomate from the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology in 2024.
Dr. Hoikka's work in oral and maxillofacial radiology included being an independent business owner, a volunteer supporting the Pacific U.S. Air Force mission, an independent contractor for two consulting services and a reviewer for the Journal of Forensic Sciences.
