Biography
Marie Celentino is an assistant professor and the Director of the Immigration Law Clinic. Previously, she served as a Teaching Fellow and Interim Director of the Immigration Law Clinic at Michigan State University College of Law. She has exclusively practiced immigration law for her entire career, serving as a managing attorney at the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center, senior attorney at Freedom House Detroit, and immigration attorney with Antone, Casagrande & Adwers, P.C. Celentino is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and currently serves as the chair of the Michigan chapter’s Asylum Committee. She also serves on the State Bar of Michigan’s Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee. Celentino is a graduate of Harvard Law School and New York University. She joined Detroit Mercy Law in 2025.
